New Porch, New Paint, New Presence
The installation of a new porch floor and ceiling, and a
fresh new paint color top to bottom, gave this tired old girl new
presence. Her charm was revealed
during the first week of renovation.
Her true inner beauty however, took a couple more years to reveal.
The curb appeal of this house was now a WOW moment! However, the new porch and paint barely
scratched the surface of the list of needs for this project. The outside alone still required a new
front entry stairs and walkway, replacement of the retaining wall and sidewalk
along the street, a new roof, rain gutters and downspouts and eventually new
landscaping.
The first week of renovation was scary. It felt like I was pulling off a
Band-Aid that had been adhered with super glue. There was no looking back at that point. I was off to the races, the dog races,
and I was the Greyhound who was never going to catch that rabbit!
