Recycled Christmas Lights Turn Twizzler - Last year, the lights on our pre-lite Christmas tree died and I managed to give one of the strands a second life. I bought a cardboard cone at Michaels and simply hot glued the light strand on it in a spiral. I cut the light sockets off after the strand was glued to the cone. The strand falls apart and unwinds if it is cut before gluing it to the cone. I spray painted it white with Krylon white matte primer, and very loosely painted the light cord with red acrylic paint. To display the finished tree I set it on a glass jar filled with vintage red buttons.
